Silver Creek
oil on canvas
24x28
Those of us who paint outdoors often can sometimes put ourselves in an 8x10 or 9x12 box. I decided after a few semi succesful 16x20's I wanted to go large. Here are the results from this afternoon. I think that it was freeing and dare I say easier painting so large. Big brushes and bold moves. Happy Painting!

The Pleasure of Plein Air
The Mistral |
Throughback |
Oh the summer has intoxicated me with so many muses!
I haven't posted on this blog since the Cedarburg event. I have been busy working the Plein Air competitions and keeping up with capturing my own neck of the woods. I have had the distinct honor of meeting some wonderful people this summer who also have paint running through there veins. I cannot believe the kindness and comrodery they have shown. I hope that these folks will be in my landscape for a very long time.
I have done well this summer at the competitions but more over I have grown as a painter and a businessman. Here are some of the pieces I have done over the past few months. Enjoy
